Shelly Morris
Third and Fourth Grade Teacher
It is so hard to condense my full life into a few sentences, but here goes.
I was born in Barbados and I emigrated to the US back in 1997. I love to travel and teach, so I combine them and have seen the world while doing what I love.
This is my 26th year teaching overall. 19 years have been with the SDA school system, 13 here in Southern California, 3 in Florida, 2 in Arizona, and 1 in Guam.
I have been teaching here at SFVA since 2015 and I love it. I pray this is my last move because, I hope to retire from this school as I have found a family here.

I obtained my B.A. degree in Education from UNIFE in Lima, Peru in year 2002. In the year 2008, I completed my equivalency through Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) fulfilling the requirements for a B.A in General Education with emphasis on Special Education, Speech Pathology and Audiology.
I was a substitute teacher at San Fernando Valley Academy for two years. This school year will be my second year as a full time teacher serving God’s children. Working at SFVA has been a personal blessing because I love teaching the Lord’s little and creative minds.
The class goal is for my students to end the school year reading, writing, computing basic mathematics and reading the Bible at Kindergarten level.
